Address:
University of Antwerp (UAntwerp)
Campus Drie Eiken
Universiteitsplein 1, 2610 Wilrijk, Belgium
UAntwerp:
The conference facilities are located in Building O, one of the newest and most impressive complexes on campus Drie Eiken. Building O comprises eight lecture halls, two microscopy rooms, a practicals room, a bio space, and a reprographics service. It is easily recognizable by its eye-catching photo facade. This unique facade features portraits of students and staff, captured by Antwerp’s resident British artist, Perry Roberts.
How to get to the venue
Getting to the University of Antwerp from the airport is relatively easy and straightforward. The public transportation system in Antwerp is well-developed and efficient, so you should have no trouble finding your way to the campus.
Public transport
If you are coming from the city centre, you can take bus number 17 from Antwerp Central Station to the station Fort VI-straat, the journey takes about 40 minutes. We recommend the Smart ways to Antwerp website to easily plan your travel (including timetable): www.slimnaarantwerpen.be.
A single ticket costs 2.5€. The tickets can be purchased at the ticket machines at the Central Station or you can directly pay contactless at the white terminal on all De Lijn buses and trams. Another way to buy tickets is through the De Lijn app, QR for download:
If you’re coming from other parts of the city, you can also use the De Lijn website or mobile app to find the most convenient tram or bus connection. The university is also easily accessible by bike, with plenty of bike racks available on campus.
Car
Attendees coming by car may park at the Parking 2 (marked by the yellow arrow in the map below). However, it’s important to note that parking can be limited during peak hours, and some car parks may be reserved for staff and students only.
If you’re driving a non-electric car, you should be aware of the low emission zone (LEZ) that has been in effect in Antwerp since 2017. The LEZ covers most of the city and is intended to reduce pollution by limiting access to older, more polluting vehicles. To drive in the LEZ, your vehicle must meet certain emission standards, or you’ll need to purchase a day pass. Be sure to check the LEZ rules before heading to the university to ensure compliance.
Taxi companies: Most taxi companies in Antwerp offer an app, e.g. taxi.eu, eCab, Brixlane, Antwerp-Tax (+32 3 238 38 38), also Uber works well in Antwerp and can be used.
How To Get Around The Venue
